Lucy's Media Features

BBC Breakfast

Lucy was first invited to the BBC breakfast sofa to discuss the topic of food allergy vs intolerance, in light of a recent survey that had identified that rates of self reported food sensitivity were significantly above clinically estimated rates. Lucy helped to pick apart the science, including the difference between the two terms and significance of food exclusions on diet & nutritional intake.

Lucy's second appearance (a few weeks later) joined Dr Caroline Tyler from the 'Children of the 90s' team to discuss their recent research findings surrounding fussy/picky eating.

Lucy had the pleasure of being invited to write a ‘Boost her Superpower' feature for Baby & Toddler Magazine’s meet the expert double-page print supplement. This popular pull-out feature focused on providing expert guidance to parents regarding which supplements will help build their child’s immune system. Within the feature, Lucy answered some commonly asked parents questions on supplements, such as whether probiotics are suitable for children and whether vitamins could help boost energy levels in children. Lucy used her expertise and clinical experience as a children's dietitian to provide valuable insights, guidance and relevant product recommendations for parents with young children.

Nursery World

The results of a study by the Infant & Toddler Forum found that 49% of meals served to children aged between one and four were outside the recommended portion size range. As a nutritionist for the Infant & Toddler Forum, Lucy Upton provided additional insight to help strengthen the analysis and provide further guidance on the topic. As well as providing a direct quote to go hand-in-hand with the results, Lucy also provided some expert tips on toddlers' diets, which were published alongside the analysis on Nursery World and in other national media publications.
